Welcome to 248 Driftwood, your beachy/nautical canal-front address in paradise. This waterfront stilt home has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths with canal and back bay views from the screen enclosed balcony off the living room. Gulf access is just across Estero Boulevard. There is off street parking, with two covered spaces beneath the home. There is wood laminate flooring, with the exception of wood tile in the bathrooms. The kitchen is a chef's delight with plenty of counterspace and well-stocked cabinets to make it easier to prepare full-course meals, should that be on your list. Appliances are all stainless steel and include a side by side refrigerator/freezer with ice and water dispenser in the freezer door, glasstop range with self-cleaning oven, dishwasher, and built-in above-range microwave oven. There is a double kitchen sink with disposal. The kitchen window looks out to the front of the home with its lush tropical landscaping. In the dining area of the kitchen is a wood table with four chairs next to a window that provides a nice view of the canal and back bay. Another plus for this home is your own laundry area downstairs with full size washer and dryer. Just think, should you so desire you can return home with suitcases full of clean clothes!

This property is located at the quiet southern end of Estero Island and is within walking distance of a myriad of amenities that include a public marina, movie theatre just a 3-5 minute walk down the boulevard, and beachfront bars and restaurants. There is also quick exit via the south bridge to nearby Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero and SWFL International Airport. The beach at this portion of the island is expansive, connecting its guests to 7 miles of white sugar sand beach. Trolley service is available from Estero Boulevard to the Times Square area, the central hub of Fort Myers Beach, where there is an extended fishing pier and too numerous to count clubs, restaurants, and boutiques. Also at this end of the island is the famous Key West Express, a high-speed ferry making the trip to Key West in just under 4 hours. The trolley can also take you south to the secluded Lover's Key park. The island's major supermarket, Publix, is just a 2-mile drive away.

Entry from the parking area below is up a flight of stairs. Walk into the living area, nicely furnished with a queen-size leather sleeper sofa with end tables and lamps. Decor is beachy/nautical. On the opposite side of the sofa is a credenza with large flat screen TV and two leather swivel rockers and a floor lamp. There is expansive glass on this side of the living room with two sliding glass doors that provide access to a screen enclosed balcony, furnished with a round deck table with 4 padded chairs. The view from here is of the canal and the back bay, most likely a focal point of your stay.

Adjacent to the living room and balcony is the kitchen as described above. On leaving the kitchen area, to the right is a hallway with linen closets and a guest bathroom and bedroom to the left, and the master bedroom with en suite bath to the right, which is the next stop on our tour.

The master bedroom is furnished with a Queen size bed with night stands and lamps, a ceiling fan, a 3-drawer chest with large flat screen TV, and ample closet space. One of the windows here overlooks the front of the home with the lush tropical landscaping. The en suite bathroom has a combination tub/shower with sliding glass doors, commode, and updated vanity with lavatory and full wall mirror. There is plenty of storage space beneath the vanity.

Back out into the hallway and to the right is the guest bath which has a walk-in tiled shower with sliding glass doors, commode, and vanity with lavatory and wall mirror.

Just adjacent to the guest bath is the second bedroom, furnished with two single beds with night stand and lamp, ceiling fan, a 3-drawer chest with flat screen TV, and corner leather recliner. There is ample closet space as well. One of the windows in this bedroom also overlooks the back yard and canal.

A bonus to this vacation rental is a downstairs covered patio area with round glass-top table and chairs, gas grill, and entrance to the laundry room with full size washer and dryer. There is also a full bathroom with pedestal lavatory with wall mirror, commode, and walk-in shower with square shower head and hand-held spray. Flooring throughout this level is also wood tile. Next to this is a third bedroom that is furnished with a Queen-size bed, night stand and lamp, with its own door out to the covered patio area. There is a 5-drawer chest, as well as a glass-top rattan table with flat screen TV. A window from this room also looks out to the lush tropical landscaping in front of the home. This downstairs area has its own separate air conditioning.

The island has numerous restaurants and night life for your choosing. Water activities abound that include jet ski rentals, parasailing, fishing charters, dolphin and sunset tours, as well as other close by things to do and places to visit. Sanibel Island, world famous for its sea shells, and Fort Myers with its Downtown River District, historic winter homes of Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone, lie not far to the north, while to the south is Lover's Key State Park, Bonita Springs, and Naples.
